PRIAH

Hand Crocheted Garments

Priah was founded by Juanita Garcia with a simple yet profound mission: to safeguard the time-honored artistry of hand-crochet in Boyacá, Colombia, which faced a grave threat from the advancing tide of industrialization. Guided by her deep passion for sustainable fashion and social entrepreneurship, Juanita united a collective of highly skilled female artisans from the region. These artisans, revered masters of the hand-crochet techniques passed down through generations, joined forces under the banner of Priah.

At the heart of Priah lies an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. The artisans meticulously weave their crochet magic using a delicate needle #12, which happens to be the second smallest needle available, paired with an exceptionally thin yarn. This intricate process demands a longer production time compared to other crocheted garments on the market, yet the unparalleled quality achieved is a testament to the artisans' consummate skill. Given that crochet tension can vary from artisan to artisan, each weave is painstakingly completed by the same person, imparting the garment with its maker's unique signature.
